In letzter Zeit stehe ich total auf Süßigkeiten. Selbstgemachte Süßigkeiten! Und dann ist mir bei Waterstones in London auch noch ein wahnsinnstolles Buch in die Hände gefallen, seitdem überlege ich ständig was ich Leckeres daraus nachmachen könnte. Als erstes waren die Peanut Butter Cups dran. Nicht weil ich darauf besonders scharf war (ich hatte noch nie davor welche gekostet), aber hallooo! Erdnuss und Schokolade ist ja wohl nur geil! Und das Rezept war simpel und schnell zu verwirklichen!

Daher kann ich Euch die Peanut Butter Cups auch prima als Last Minute Geschenk zu Weihnachten empfehlen! Wenn ihr am 23. oder 24. verzweifelt seid, denkt an mich und die Peanut Butter Cups! Praktisch ist nämlich auch, dass man nicht viele Zutaten braucht und wenn man sie nicht sowieso zu Hause, bekommt man sie auch noch schnell im Supermarkt. Keine fancy Glukose oder so, nur Schokolade und Erdnuss. Heaven!

Die kleinen Dinger sind so klein und verführerisch und mit einem Haps im Mund, ganz großes Kino! Und hab ich schon die Kombi Schokolade und Erdnuss erwähnt? Jaa, genau, sehr lecker! Wer es mag, dem empfehle ich noch einen Hauch Fleur de Sel auf den Peanut Butter Cups zwischen den gehackten Erdnüssen. Das wäre wirklich perfekt!

Vor zwei Jahren: Pâté von der Räuchermakrele

Vor drei Jahren: Orangen-Vanille-Stangen

Vor fünf Jahren: Crème Brûlée mit Gewürzen

Peanut Butter Cups

nach einem Rezept aus Sweet Things von Annie Rigg

ergibt: ca. 24 Stück

Zutaten:

  • 50 g weiße Schokolade
  • 100 g Erdnussbutter, crunchy (bei cremiger einfach noch ein paar gehackte Erdnüsse dazugeben)
  • 1 TL Vanilleextrakt
  • 150 g Vollmilchschokolade
  • 150 Zartbitterschokolade
  • 30 g gesalzene Erdnüsse, gehackt
  • Fleur de Sel, nach Geschmack

außerdem:

  • Papier- oder Metallförmchen ø 2,5 cm (für sehr kleine Mini-Muffins oder Pralinen)

Die weiße Schokolade schmelzen, dann mit der Erdnussbutter und dem Vanilleextrakt verrühren.

Die Vollmilchschokolade mit der Zartbitterschokolade schmelzen. 

Einen gestrichenen Teelöffel Schokolade in ein Papier- oder Metallförmchen geben und durch drehen auch an den Wänden verteilen. Man kann gut einen Löffel mit glatten Stiel zur Hilfe nehmen und mit dem Stiel die Schokolade am Förmchenrand verteilen. Auf ein Blech oder in eine Minimuffinform stellen. Für alle Förmchen wiederholen. Das Blech für 10 Minuten kalt stellen (Kühlschrank oder im Winter einfach nach draußen).

Einen gestrichenen Teelöffel Erdnussbutterfüllung in die Schokobecher geben. Mit einem feuchten Finger die Creme in den Becherchen glatt streichen. Mit einem gestrichenen Teelöffel Schokolade bedecken. Anschließend das Blech einmal vorsichtig auf die Arbeitsplatte klopfen, damit Luftblasen entweichen und sich die Schokolade gleichmäßig verteilen kann.

Mit gehackten Erdnüssen und einer Prise Fleur de Sel (wer mag) bestreuen. Kühl stellen. 

Die Peanut Butter Cups gekühlt aufbewahren und innerhalb einer Woche verbrauchen.

Lately I’m totally into sweets. Homemade sweets of course! Incidentally in London at Waterstones I bought this great book and since then I’m always thinking what I can make next from this book. First I made this peanut butter cups. Not because I was so eager to taste them (I’ve never had them before), but helloooo! Peanuts and chocolate are just awesome! But also this recipe was an easy and quick one!

Therefore I can recommend you these peanut butter cups also as a last minute gift for christmas! If you are desperate on the 23. or 24. think of me and the peanut butter cups! It’s also very handy that you don’t need many ingredients and if you don’t have them at home you get them quickly in every supermarket. No fancy glucose or something like this, just chocolate and peanuts. Heaven!

These small bites are so petite and luscious and with one bite they are gone! And did I already mention the combo chocolate and peanuts? Yeees, exactly, so good! If you like, I recommend to add a pinch of fleur de sel to the chopped peanuts on top. This would be just perfect!

Two years ago: smoked mackerel pâté

Three years ago: orange vanilla sticks

Five years ago: spiced crème brûlée

Peanut Butter Cups

adapted from Sweet Things by Annie Rigg

yields: about 24

Ingredients:

  • 50 g white chocolate
  • 100 g peanut butter, crunchy (if you only have creamy add some chopped peanuts)
  • 1 tsp vanille extract
  • 150 g milk chocolate
  • 150 dark chocolate
  • 30 g salted peanuts, chopped
  • fleur de sel, to your taste

moreover

  • paper or aluminium cases ø 2,5 cm (for very small muffins or truffels)

Melt the white chocolate. Stir in the peanut butter and vanilla extract.

Melt the milk chocolate and the dark chocolate together.

Add on teaspoon melted chocolate to every paper or aluminium case and turn them so the chocolate distributes on the walls. Use the handle of a teaspoon to make this aim easier. Place them in a mini muffin pan or a baking tray. Place the tray in the fridge.

Add a leveled teaspoon of peanut butter filling in the chocolate cups. Smooth the surface of the filling with damp fingers. Cover with another teaspoon of melted chocolate. Tap the pan carefully onto the table so that air bubbles are released and the chocolate spreads evenly.

Sprinkle with chopped peanuts and a pinch of fleur de sel (if you like). Refridgerate.

Keep the peanut butter cups cool and consume within one week.

  4. Ich bin auch ein großer Anhänger der Reeses’s Peanut Butter Cups. Die sind aber in Deutschland wirklich schwierig aufzutreiben. Deine selbstgemachte Variante ist da sicherlich eine hervorragende Alternative.
