Adventszeit ist auch Weihnachtsmarktzeit. Ich liebe ja Weihnachtsmärkte!
Allerdings nicht die wahllose Ansammlung von Fressbuden und unweihnachtlichem Geramsche. Nein, am liebsten in schönem historischen Ambiente, angeboten werden Handwerksprodukte von kleinen Herstellern und das Essen ist abwechslungsreich, lecker und passend zur Saison.
Nun häufen sich jedes Jahr die Artikel über die schönsten Weihnachtsmärkte. Einen Wochenendausflug zum schönsten Weihnachtsmarkt sehe ich aber nicht ein. Vor allem weiß man dann nicht, ob es wirklich den eigenen Erwartungen entspricht.
Der Reiterlesmarkt in meinem derzeitigen Wohnort Rothenburg ob der Tauber steht z.B. immer auf diesen Listen und ich finde ihn einfach gar nicht schön. Er ist winzig und verteilt auf drei kleinen Plätzen, obwohl man ihn wunderbar ihn der historischen Altstadt verteilen könnte. Es gibt keine schönen Waren und hauptsächlich Fressen und Saufen. Und um 19h ist unter der Woche Schluss! Da sieht man, dass es einfach nur auf Touristen ausgelegt ist. Wenn die Leute mir dann immer erzählen, dass sie nach Rothenburg auf den Weihnachtsmarkt kommen wollen, dann erzähle ich ihnen immer wo es wirklich schöne Weihnachtsmärkte gibt!
In unserer Region gibt es einen wunderschönen Weihnachtsmarkt in Sommerhausen (gegenüber von Winterhausen, kein Witz!), der an allen Adventswochenenden geöffnet hat. In Esslingen bei Stuttgart gibt es einen wunderbaren Mittelalter-Weihnachtsmarkt, der die gesamte Adventszeit geöffnet hat. Nun ist ein weiterer Favorit hinzugekommen: der romantische Weihnachtsmarkt auf Gut Wolfgangshof in Anwanden bei Zirndorf (bei Fürth/Nürnberg)!
Der Weihnachtsmarkt ist sicherlich auch kein Geheimtipp mehr, ich wollte schon viele Jahre hin, aber es dann doch wieder vergessen. Diesmal sind wir ganz spontan hin, als wir in der Nähe waren und ich war hin und weg!
Erstmal sieht man schon wenn man auf das Gut zukommt wie üppig und schön alles beleuchtet ist. Mit feinen Lichterketten und bunt erleuchteten Gebäuden sieht alles sehr märchenhaft aus.
Innen erwartet einen ein riesiges Gut und somit auch ein sehr großer Weihnachtsmarkt, der auch etwas verwinkelt ist, so dass man im Dunkeln nicht mehr ganz sicher ist wo man schon war und wo nicht ;).
Zauberhafte Figuren auf Stelzen laufen beleuchtet durch die Menge und verzaubern mit ihrer Anwesenheit. Alle Stände sind in hübschen Holzhütten untergebracht, von denen einige auch betretbar sind. Ein altmodisches kleines Kinderkarussell fügt sich nahtlos in die tolle Deko. Es gibt mehrere Lagerfeuer und Feuerschalen an denen man sich wärmen kann. Kinder reiten auf Kamelen und auch wenn ich ein weinendes Auge habe, da ich nicht weiß wie das Kamel so lebt (aber vielleicht lebt es ganzjährig ganz toll in der Nähe 😉 ), so ist es einfach so passend. Es gibt keine nervige Weihnachtsmusik, nur die Zirndorfer Kapelle spielt traditionelle Weihnachtslieder und trägt damit zu noch mehr Zauberglanz bei. Kleine Seen sind mit schwimmenden Kerzen geschmückt und es gibt Bratwürste, Glühwein (an manchen Ständen sogar richtig tolle ausgefallene Sorten), Met, Langos (nicht sehr weihnachtlich, aber köstlich!) und Specksterne. Außerdem frische Kiechle und anderen Süßkram.
Im alten Kuhstall sind unten weitere Aussteller untergebracht, oben kann man sich setzen und in Ruhe etwas Essen und Trinken. Das war der einzige Ort, der mir nicht so gefallen hat, denn der Kuhstall war unglaublich voll. Muss man aber nicht rein, die schöneren Sachen gibt es draußen nach dem Eingang gleich links ;).
Es gibt ein großes Angebot für Kinder. Zwar finde ich es nicht sinnvoll mit Kindern unter 3-4 Jahren auf den Markt zu gehen (und am besten noch einen Kinderwagen durch die Menge zu quetschen. Eine Freude für Mitmenschen, Mutter und Kind. Nicht. Ich lobe mir hier Tragemöglichkeiten!). Kinder zwischen 4 und 10 Jahren (Schätzung von mir, nicht vom Veranstalter) können hier aber viele Aktivitäten mitmachen: u.a. Drechseln, Papier schöpfen, Glasblasen und es gibt auch ein extra Bastelzelt!
Das Personal ist überall sehr freundlich (Parkwächter, Eintrittskartenverkäuferinnen, Ordner am Eingang, Verkäufer auf dem Markt), ich war positiv überrascht.
Ja, der Markt weist auch eine große Menge von Besuchern auf, aber wir fanden, dass es sich ganz gut verlaufen hat (außer im Kuhstall) und man gut laufen und gucken konnte. Eine gewisse Menge an Menschen muss man auf Weihnachtsmärkten einfach in Kauf nehmen.
Ich hatte jedenfalls schon lange nicht mehr so viel Freude auf einem Weihnachtsmarkt und hatte immer wieder Sternchen in den Augen, weil es so schön war!
Ich empfehle den Markt bei Anbruch der Dunkelheit zu besuchen (ab 16 Uhr), damit man die wunderbare Lichterwelt in vollem Glanz erleben kann. So ab 18 Uhr hat man dann gemerkt, dass mehr Besucher kamen, da haben wir uns dann auf den Heimweg gemacht.
