Heute verwöhnen euch meine liebsten Alkoblogger Sabrina und Steffen von Feed me up before you go go – natürlich! – stilgerecht mit einem Cocktail!
Ich schätze von den beiden nicht nur ihre viele tollen Cocktailrezepte, sondern ganz besonders die mitreißenden Reiseberichte! Die Ostküste der USA kommt mir danach immer noch verlockender vor ;)!
Außerdem sind die beiden besonders sympathische Eidgenossen, schließlich gehen sie das Bloggen immer ganz entspannt an und und haben im Zweifelsfall immer ein Craft beer oder einen Cocktail in der Hand ;). Vielen Dank, dass ihr heute zu Gast seid und ich vertreibe mir jetzt die ersten Erkältungsanzeichen (zum 4. Mal in diesem Winter!) mit einem Apple Honey Mule. Prost!
Wenn etwas, das man eigentlich liebt, das einen schon seit Jahren begleitet und in das man sein ganzes Herzblut hineinsteckt, plötzlich zur Last wird, man jeglicher Lust und Inspiration beraubt wird und nur noch Druck von allen Seiten spürt, dann ist es höchste Zeit, mal kurz zurückzutreten, tief durchzuatmen und ein „Ihr könnt mich alle mal!“ in die Welt hinauszubrüllen (oder wenigstens sehr laut zu denken). Ähnlich geht es Lena gerade, die es sich hoffentlich in ihrer Blogpause gutgehen lässt.
Und da sich so ein „Ihr könnt mich alle mal“ besonders gut mit einem Drink in der Hand ausrufen lässt, bringen wir dir, liebe Lena, einen unserer aktuellen Lieblings-zurücklehnen-und-den-Abend-genießen-Drinks mit: einen Apple Honey Mule mit Minze. Dabei handelt es sich um eine Variation des 50er-Jahre-Cocktail-Hits Moscow Mule. Damals trat Wodka gerade seinen Siegeszug durch die USA an (Hunderttausende durstige Ex-Soldaten sorgten für stetige Nachfrage nach Hochprozentigem) und Smirnoff entwickelte den passenden Drink dazu. Die Macher erfanden außerdem den klassischen Kupferbecher, in dem der Drink auch heute wieder in jeder Hipster-Bar serviert wird.
Mit dem Comeback hochwertiger Ginger-Beer-Sorten in den letzten Jahren hat auch der Moscow Mule wieder an Schwung gewonnen, sodass sich mittlerweile wohl auf jeder zweiten Cocktailkarte eine Variation des Drinks wiederfindet (bei uns in München z.B. oft als Munich Mule mit The Duke-Gin und Gurke). Unsere Version fügt dem Original eine fruchtig-süße Note hinzu und lässt gleichzeitig eine Menge Spielraum bei der Herstellung eures eigenen Drinks. Je nach Apfelsaft- und Honigsorte lässt sich das Aroma dieses auf den ersten Blick so simplen Cocktails in ganz verschiedene Richtungen steuern, die dem Drink eine ganz persönliche Note verleihen.
Apple Honey Mule
ergibt: einen Drink
- 5-6 Minzblätter
- 3 cl Wodka
- 2 cl Apfel-Honig-Zimt-Sirup*
- 1 Spritzer Chocolate Bitters
- Ginger Beer
- 3 dünn geschnittene Apfelspalten
- Minzstängel
- Eiswürfel
Die Minzblätter in ein Highbowlglas oder einen Moscow-Mule-Becher geben und am Boden leicht mit einem Stößel andrücken. Wodka und Apfel-Honig-Zimt-Sirup hinzufügen; wenn zur Hand, noch einen Spritzer Chocolate Bitters dazugeben. Mit Eis auffüllen und mit einem Barlöffel kaltrühren, dann mit Ginger Beer aufgießen. Mit Apfelspalten, Minzstängel und Strohhalm servieren.
*Dafür 100 ml guten naturtrüben Apfelsaft mit 60-80 g Honig (hier müsst ihr etwas experimentieren, was Intensität und Würze angeht) und einer Zimtstange aufkochen und kalt werden lassen. Die Zimstange entfernen und den Sirup in ein Glas oder eine Flasche füllen. Im Kühlschrank hält sich der Sirup mehrere Wochen.
