Boxen(abos) gibt es ja mehr als genug derzeit. Und nicht immer ist der Inhalt konform mit den Versprechungen der Versender. Ich habe da sowohl gute als auch schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht.
Ich möchte einfach keinen sinnlosen Kram zu Hause haben, den ich dann nicht verwende. Darunter fallen nicht nur Sachen, die ich nicht brauche, weil sie überflüssig sind, sondern auch Produkte die von großen Firmen produziert, mit widerlichen Inhaltsstoffen versehen und in jedem handelsüblichen Supermarkt verkauft werden. Wenn ich sowas möchte, dann kann ich es mir ja auch einfach selbst kaufen, oder?!
Man muss sich im Boxenmarkt also abheben! Das schafft die Foodist Box alle mal! Mit der Foodist Box kann man vielleicht im ersten Moment nichts anfangen. Foodist machte mir die Box schmackhaft, indem sie es so ausdrückte: „Box mit Delikatessen aus kleinen Manufakturen“. Delikatessen? Kleine Manufakturen? Alles Bio? Ja bitte! Und ich war erfreut, als das ein oder andere auch noch fairtrade war. Ich bekam also eine Box zum Testen zugesandt.
Schon beim Auspacken war ich begeistert angesichts der schönen Produktauswahl. Richtig schön ist auch die Vorstellung der einzelnen Produkte, ebenso wie deren Produzenten. So fühlt man sich dem Produkt und den Manufakturen gleich viel näher. Das ganze ist ehrlich und nicht so überkandidelt aufgemacht.
Wie man sieht konnten wir uns nicht zurückhalten beim Probieren: der Eistee wurde schon vor dem Fotografieren geleert und die Buddha Bears Tüte wurde auch schon aufgerissen. Uups! Außerdem epic fail beim Fotografieren, da ich die Macadamianüsse vergessen hatte draufzupacken musste ich sie nachher noch mit GIMP reinschmuggeln.
Das gab es in der Mai Box und mein Fazit nach dem Probieren:
- Dirty Harry’s famours BBQ Sauce vom Münchner Kindl: Sehr sehr lecker! Die beste BBQ Sauce, die ich bisher probiert habe! Genau die richtige Mischung aus Tomatengeschmack, Süße, Schärfe und Rauch. Schöne rustikale Verpackung!
- Buddha Bears Gummibärchen von Mindsweets: Da die Buddhas ohne Gelatine auskommen ist die Konsistenz im ersten Moment gewöhnungsbedürftig. Nicht so zäh wie normale Gummibärchen. Der Geschmack überzeugt jedoch!
- Macadamia Nüsse von Flores Farm: Leckere, qualitativ hochwertige Nüsse. Ich finde Macadamianüsse immer etwas geschmacksarm, hätte mich hier über eine andere Nussorte mehr gefreut, vor allem nachdem ich im Laden gesehen habe was es alles noch so für Köstlichkeiten von Flores Farm gibt 😉 (Pekannüsse!).
- Butterbrotsalz von Miriam Eva Kebe Living: Ich war erst skeptisch gegenüber diesem Salz, da ich mir nicht vorstellen konnte für was man das braucht. Und da wir sowieso immer Salzbutter auf unser Brot schmieren, ist es too much nochmal Salz drauf zu streuen. Wir haben aber andere Wege gefunden um das Salz zum Einsatz zu bringen: auf Tomate-Mozzarella, auf Steak und auf Eiern (mein Liebling: Butterbrot + hartgekochtes Ei in Scheiben + Butterbrotsalz = mjam). Das Salz ist echt lecker und lässt viele Gerichte erst so richtig glänzen. Hat mich auf der ganzen Linie überzeugt! Ein zusätzliches Plus auch für die wiederverwendbare hübsche Verpackung in Weck-Gläsern.
- Erdbeer-Fresco-Soße enstanden aus einer Zusammenarbeit von Foodist, Marge und dem Sekthof Sieben: Lecker erdbeerig!
- Iced Tea in Pfirsich-Mango und Zitrone-Minze von Ailaike: Dieses Produkt mochten wir gar nicht. Pfirsich-Mango schmeckte für mich künstlich nach pinkem Kaugummi, Zitrone-Minze war ok, hat mich aber nicht umgehauen. Schade, ich mag Eistee richtig gerne, aber dieser hier ist nicht das was ich mir von Eistee verspreche. Schöne Verpackung und origineller Name – (A)i l(a)ike!
Und was ist, wenn mir ein Produkt richtig gut schmeckt? Wo bekomme ich das? Einfach auf Foodist nachbestellen! Toll, oder?
Die Nüsse und die Buddha Bärchen habe ich übrigens auch schon in einem lokalen Bio-Supermarkt gesehen. Sprich die Produkte kann man wenigestens teilweise auch ohne Bestellung im Laden kaufen.
Ich kannte vorher keines der Produkte oder eine der Marken, es war also eine richtig Überraschungsbox. Bis auf ein Produkt war auch alles sehr lecker und es waren einige Nachkaufkandidaten dabei. Sehr gut gefallen hat mir der beigelegte großformatige Prospekt, indem auf das Produkt, seine Anwendung, aber auch auf die Produzenten und die Herstellung eingegangen wird. Für mich also die beste Box um interessante unbekanntere Lebensmittel in hochwertiger Qualität auszuprobieren.
Man kann die Foodist Box übrigens auch verschenken, was ich eine tolle Idee finde für Menschen die auf hochwertige Lebensmittel stehen (oder schon alles haben)! Eine witzige Idee ist auch die Ladies und die Gentlemens Box, wobei mich als Frau besonders die Gentlemens Box reizt ;).
Aus eigener Überzeugung kann ich die Foodist Box jedem empfehlen, der an guten Lebensmittel Interesse hat. Eine Box kostet 24 Euro, der Wert der Box übersteigt jedoch immer 30 Euro. Ein fairer Preis für gute Produkte.

I also don’t want to have useless stuff at home, which I don’t use. I’m not just talking about stuff I don’t need, because it’s redundant, but also products from big companies with disgusting ingredients, listed in every supermarket. Because if I want that, I can buy it myself, right?!
So you have to set yourself apart in the box market! Which does the Foodist box! In the first moment you may think Foodist box what’s that? Foodist made my mouth water by saying „a box with delicatessen from small manufactures“. Delicatessen? Small manufactures? Everything organic? Yes, please! And I was even more smitten, as I noticed some products were even fair trade. So they send me a box for testing.
I was excited as I unpacked, because it was such a good choice of products. I also liked the presentation of the products as well as their manufactures. It’s kind of personal, the box is true and not over the top.
As you can see we couldn’t hold back and already drunk the iced tea and opened the gummy bears. Oops! Also epic fail at photographing: I forgot to add the macadamia nuts and had to insert them later with GIMP.
So this was in the may box and my opinion after I tried the products:
- Dirty Harry’s famous BBQ Sauce by Münchner Kindl: Very delicious, the best BBQ sauce I’ve ever tasted! Exactly the right mixture of tomatoes, sweet-, hot- and smokiness. Good looking rustic packaging!
- Buddha Bears gummy bears by Mindsweets: Since they are made without gelatin the texture is a bit strange in the first moment, but they taste great!
- macadamia nut by Flores Farm: Delicious premium-quality nuts. In my opinion macadamia nuts are lacking a bit of taste, I rather would have tried some other nuts by Flores Farm, especially after I spied more of them in a whole foods store 😉 (pecans!).
- Butterbrotsalz („buttered bread salt“) by Miriam Eva Kebe Living: I was quite sceptical towards this salt, since I couldn’t imagine its purpose. Moreover, we already use salted butter for our bread, so it would’ve been too much to add more salt on top. But we found other ways to integrate it in our eating habits, like on top of caprese, steak and hard boiled eggs (my favourite: buttered bread – sliced hard boiled egg + buttered bread salt = yum). The salt is delicious and brings some dishes to shine even more. It convinced me fully! An additional plus for its pretty reusable packaging in Weck jars.
- Erdbeer-Fresco-Soße (strawberry fresco sauce) by Foodist, Marge and Sekthof Sieben: Very good strawberry sauce!
- Iced Tea in peach-mango and lemon-mint by Ailaike: We didn’t liked this product at all. Peach-mango tasted artificial like pink bubblegum, lemon-mint was ok, but nothing more. Nice packaging and witty name – (A)i l(a)ike!
And if you like a product you can just order it on Foodist. Isn’t that great?
I spotted the nuts and the gummy bears also in a local whole foods store, so it’s possible to get some of the products in stores without ordering them online.
I didn’t know any of the products or brands before, so it was a really surprising box. Except for one product I liked everything and there were even some products I would buy for myself again. I love the large designed brochure, where they introduced the products, its purpose, the manufactures and the production. For me the best box for trying new interesting high quality food.
You can also buy the Foodist box as a gift, which is a great idea for people who love good food (or already own everything)! Another funny idea is the ladies and gentlemen’s box, although as a woman I would prefer the gentlemen’s box ;).
So from my own conviction I can recommend the Foodist box. One box costs 24 euro, but every box is worth more than 30 euro. A fair price for these products.
