Schon vor ein paar Wochen, genauer gesagt im Monat Juli, hab ich endlich meine lang erträumte Kitchenaid bekommen! Eigentlich war geplant, dass ich mir die hübsche Maschine von meinem ersten Gehaltsscheck kaufe. Tja erstens studiere ich ja immer noch und zweitens kam da eine kleine lustige Aktion dazwischen. Mein Freund hat immer in der Mensa gegessen (er arbeitet an der Uni). Das Essen dort ist günstig, aber mies und auch nicht gerade üppig. Wir trafen eine Abmachung: Ich stelle das Mittagessen zur Verfügung und das gesparte Geld wird dann in eine Kitchenaid investiert, sozusagen als Lohn! Fand ich ne klasse Idee! Monate später, nachdem ich eine Farbe ausgesucht hatte – ich wollte eigentlich Pistachio, was es in Deutschland natürlich nicht gibt, als einzige Farbe! Danke Kitchenaid! – ich suchte mir die neue Farbe Macadamia aus, trudelte sie im Juli endlich in unsere Wohnung ein. Inklusive Eismaschine und Gemüseraspel.
Und ich liebe sie! Meine alte Bosch Küchenmaschine ist ein schlechter Witz dagegen! Ich hatte nichts anderes erwartet, aber es ist doch immer wieder schön, wenn man bestätigt wird.
Ok es gibt auch zwei drei Sachen, die ich echt schblöd finde. Der Schneebesen und die Reibetrommeln sind nicht aus rostfreiem Edelstahl. Und warum?! Warum?! Für den Preis eigentlich ne Frechheit! Kann ich auch absolut nicht nachvollziehen, auch wenn die Teile leicht zu reinigen sind. Aber in Zeiten, in denen fast jeder ne Spülmaschine nutzt (und es geht nicht ohne, bei meinem Geschirrverbrauch), ist es unverzeihlich, dass die Teile nicht in die Spüma sollen.
Trotzdem ist die Reibe ein Hit! Ich reibe eigentlich nichts mehr per Hand. Bin da richtig faul geworden. Hatte sowieso immer Angst mir die Fingerkuppen abzureiben bei der scharfen Microplane Turmreibe. Nur kleinere Mengen auf der Hand-Microplane sind noch drin.
Nächstes Manko: Kleine Mengen Sahne (100 g ) werden einfach nicht geschlagen. Zu wenig Kontakt zwischen Sahne und Schneebesen. 1 Eiweiß ist auch manchmal ein Problem. Leider koche ich eben für 2 Personen und nicht für eine Großfamilie, da müssen auch mal kleinere Mengen verarbeitet werden. Doof, Kitchenaid!
Und mein absolutes „Hass“objekt ist der Spritzschutz. Hat den Namen nicht verdient. Er ist nämlich nicht rundherum durchgängig. Total sinnvoll. Fliegt das Zeugs zwar vorne nicht raus, aber hinten. Da brauch ich auch keinen „Spritzschutz“, dementsprechend bleibt das Ding im Schrank. Absolute Fehlkonstruktion.
Obwohl das jetzt drei Negativpunkte sind, sind diese für mich noch zu vernachlässigen. Das Gewicht, die Power, das Aussehen und die gesamte Verarbeitung, sowie das Handling machen das wieder wett. Ich würde die Kitchenaid gegen keine andere Küchenmaschine mehr eintauschen. Außer es gibt sie irgendwann in Pistachio. Ja dann…
Already some weeks ago I finally received my dream kitchen accessories: a Kitchenaid. It was a dream since years, and now it became true. Originally it was planned to buy it with my first pay check.
But last year Frank and I made an arrangement. Instead of eating in the canteen, where the food is lousy, but pricey – but nonetheless lousy, and more expensive than bringing a homemade lunch to work – I cooked enough, so he skimps on the lunch in the canteen, and eats something, he brought from home (which I cooked of course). For the money he saved with that deal, I acquired a Kitchenaid. So after I found the colour I wanted – really, I wanted pistachio, which is the only colour, which is not available in Germany/Europe, thank you Kitchenaid! – I chose the new colour macadamia. July was the time to come!
And what should I say?! I love it! My old Bosch kitchen machine is really worse against it. Ok I knew that before, but not like that. There are only two three things, that are a bit annoying, but just a bit and I can live with that.
First, there are attachments, that are not made of stainless steel (whisk, shredding cones), but why? I mean for that money I can demand stainless steel attachments. Although they are easy to clean, stainless steel is quite natural today. Especially as most households are equipped with a dishwasher. So that’s a disappointment.
Nonetheless, the grater is great. Yeah! I love it and now I’m too lazy to grate anything by hand myself.
Second annoying thing: small quantities of cream or egg whites (such as one egg white or 100 g cream) cannot be beaten with the Kitchenaid. Well, it can be beaten, but it won’t change a lot. The whisk doesn’t touch the liquid with enough surface area. So it won’t be beaten. No air is incorporated. Especially small quantities of cream are kept untouched.
Third, the splash guard/pouring shield: it’s more or less waste less. It’s a total faulty design. Why is there a large gap in the back of the ring? Well so it’s no shield anymore? Really clever. So it doesn’t make any difference using the splash guard or not.
Although these three points are negatives points, the power, the weight, the look and the overall handling of the machine makes it up for me. I wouldn’t change the Kitchenaid for another stand mixer. Except the colour pistachio will make its way on the German market. If so…

Dass kleine Mengen zu schlagen nichts gut funktioniert, ist doch generell ein Küchenmaschinenproblem, oder nicht? Meine Mutter hat ein Bosch Küchenmaschine und ich finde es damit auch schon doof, wenn man nur einen Becher Sahne schlägt. Da nehm ich dann lieber das Handrührgerät.

@AnJu: Ja im April waren wir theoretisch schon so weit. Aber bis ich mir die Farbe ausgesucht hatte und dann haben wir die Maschine noch in Sigmaringen gekauft, das war nicht so einfach ;). Mit der Bosch ging das mit der Sahne besser, weil einfach prinzipiell nicht so viel reingepasst hat, dafür war der Rest einfach nur bescheiden. Und nen Handrührer hab ich bisher nicht…

Ich habe eine Bosch, aber das grössere Modell als dein altes und bin damit sehr zufrieden. Ich denke, die Kitchenaid wird überbewertet, aber ich wünsche dir natürlich viel Spass damit. 😉
@zorra: Danke, den habe ich :). Ich hab mir auch die Bosch angeschaut bzw. da gibts ja jetzt auch ein neues großes Modell in der Preisklasse der Kitchenaid. Aber alle anderen Maschinen haben mir optisch gar nicht gefallen. Und da ich ansonsten auch sehr zufrieden bin, war es für mich die richtige Entscheidung ;). Ich denke tatsächlich, dass alle Maschinen von der Leistung her sehr ähnlich sind (in der gleichen Preisklasse), daher muss man sich eigentlich nur noch entscheiden was einem besser gefällt.
